Bistro is a bit of a misnomer for the ambitions and accomplishments of thisdelightful restaurant set in the Montague Hotel on Russel Square. The restaurant has its own awninged entrance, surrounded with plants and flowers. A group meal in the restaurant would be right for a small birthday or celebration. Then there is the array of modern, flexible meeting, diningand conference rooms. There are two lovely conservatories, one seating up to 16, the other up to 25. The grand Great Russell Room seats up to 90 or accommodates up to 150 standing - very right for a big holiday bash, wedding reception, or conference. The smaller rooms, ranging from the Bloomsbury, seating 20, through to the Woburn (16), Boardroom (12) and Bedford (10), each offer up-to-the minute meeting facilities, though all are decorated with traditional elegance. Staff with work with you to accommodate your needs. Menus may include starter of seared foie gras with caramelised apples and toasted brioche, main course of home-made fish pie with pearls of vegetables and creamed potatoes, and pud of vanilla pannacotta with strawberry and rhubarb compote. Wines are service are very good indeed.
