Strada Chiswick is one of three West London branches of this ever-expanding chain of affordable Italians. Competition for customers is a-plenty on Chiswick High Road but Strada’s stylish space is easily filled most nights with charming locals. Because you know what you’re getting with Strada – great food, funky interiors, a bit of a buzz and decent prices. Pizzas are spun by hand and baked in a huge forno a legna – traditional woodfired oven to give them authentic smokey flavour that the nostrils love so much! The rustica – farmhouse sausage, wood roasted baby artichokes, capers, roasted cherry tomato onions and fresh oregano – comes highly recommended. As does the gorgeous tiramisu. Look out for regular specials.

The Chiswick branch of Strada has 70 covers, and a further eight outside. The largest group booking accepted without exclusive hire is 12 – the same number of guests that can be seated together around one table. Your menu options are simply set and a la carte. Their drinks list is purely regional Italian wines, beers and liquors, all carefully chosen to complement the menu. Children are welcome and provided with highchairs. Service is helpful and efficient. No smoking area. Air-conditioned. Open seven days a week. Good choice for a relaxed get-together, birthday party or Christmas celebration in a sophisticated setting.
