A stylish, vibrant Latin American restaurant, café and bar, Sabor attracts a discerning, friendly crowd happy to escape the chain eateries of nearby Upper Street. A thick glass bar is the lively scene of much mojito and caipirinha drinking, while bright tables are hubs of enthusiastic eating. An original menu is an exciting exploration of much of South America. Anticuchos de cerdo, or coffee-glazed skewers of pork with a black bean, corn and quinoa salad, and fillet of red snapper with a crispy, spicy cocoa and chilli coating are typical of the uncommon, inventive dishes that stick in the mind long after you’ve left. Sorbets and ice creams made with South American fruits make a literally refreshing change from chocolate and vanilla. Fab service.

Sixty people can sit and eat in Sabor’s elegant narrow shape. An extra 20 can be invited if you’re planning a reception-style event. Up to 16 can be seated on a single table. The occasion? Stag parties, hen nights, Christmas dos, birthdays, anniversaries and get-togethers all happily happen here. Menu options are: a la carte, reduced a la carte, and set (£15/£12.50). The long, cleverly-lit bar serves well as a pre/post event drinks space with its exclusive exotic cocktails and quality South American wines and spirits. Families are welcome; there are highchairs for the kiddies. Other facilities include wi-fi and a projection screen. Open seven days a week.

For all bookings of 6 or more credit card details are required - this is simply to reserve your table, no money will be taken off the card unless there is a late cancellation. Late cancellations (24 hrs or less) and no shows will be charged £10 per person
