Once upon a time there was a huge restaurant called Mezzo, this Conran restaurant is still huge, but now called Meza. Post-makeover, it’s a Spanish tapas bar and restaurant on the upper (entrance) floor, and Floridita, a Cuban-themed bar in the basement. Of the two bars, one serves cocktails made with the house drink, sherry; the other serving exciting tapas. Head Chef Ian Sutton’s focus is firmly on well-sourced, thoughtfully prepared, simply presented Spanish dishes. And there are plenty to choose from – aperitivo, hot and cold tapas, cheeses, a la plancha, raciones, salads… and a neat chef’s selection. But the main selling point is Meza’s long list of fine sherries, the biggest selection in London and all sold by the glass. Good, knowledgeable service. They do not have a non-smoking section, but will do their very best at sitting non smokers away from the smokers. Book a booth for the best atmosphere.

Make your first booking in the Private Dining Room (£750 minimum spend - evening; no min spend for lunch) and receive a dinner for two (prix fixe and a bottle of house wine). Offer ends 31st August.

Whether booking a business lunch, Christmas dos, or any other kind of get-together that will lap up the buzz, Meza welcomes you. Sala Meza, the private room, can take up to 38 for a seated meal or 50 for a reception. Its dramatic wooden doors which can be closed for privacy, or pulled back to share the atmosphere of the main restaurant. The venue as a whole has 196 covers. Parties of up to 12 can dine a la carte, otherwise choose from a reduced a la carte, generous three-course set menus or canapés. Feel free to book your own entertainment. A credit card is required to secure a reservation, if there is availability - this is simply to secure your booking, absolutely no money will be charged to the card except in the case of late cancellations. Late cancellations (within 24 hours of the reservation) and no-shows will incur a charge of £10 per person.
